About the Event
Everyone experiences grief differently. There is no rule that says grief has to last for a set amount of time, or manifest itself in a certain way. Our grief journeys are unique. Grief is also a process that has to be worked through. It's not something that anyone can 'heal'. Yet sometimes we need a helping hand in that process. Sometimes we want to share with people who understand. Sometimes we want to explore our emotions in a safe and non-judgemental environment, to help us on our journey.Â
Join me for a weekend retreat where we explore grief. The retreat will be small, friendly and personal in nature - laid back, welcoming and non-judgemental. It's a safe space to explore. The retreat is held at Hill Top Haven, a rural old farmer and miner's cottage in the middle of the rugged and beautiful North Pennines (AONB). (For pictures and map, see more at www.hilltophaven.co.uk)
Over the course of the weekend, (Friday evening 5pm to Sunday afternoon 4pm) we include a mixture of creative work, outdoor nature reflection and mindfulness. We explore what grief is and what is 'typical'. We explore how we are feeling, and what we might need to move forward in our grief journeys. We also include some fun and laughter.
I am a qualified coach and mindfulness teacher, with both training in and recent, personal experience of grief. I create a safe and supportive environment for you. This retreat is perfect for anyone who has recovered from the initial shock of being bereaved, and is seeking help to move forward on their journey.Â
If you are sadly recently bereaved, or suffering from complex grief, I would recommend finding a counsellor or therapist you can talk to.Â
I have your best interests at heart, and will be seeking to have a conversation with each attendee, on booking.Â
Â
To be flexible, the 'ticket' price includes everything - including all meals, starting with dinner on Friday and ending with tea and cake on Sunday.
It also includes a meal in a local restaurant on the Saturday night.Â
There are three rooms available at Hill Top Haven - see below.Â
The maximum number of people on the retreat is 6, so if you'd like to book your own accommodation, and join us, that's no problem.
An important part of the retreat is the time we spend together, which is why everything is included.
If you do book your own accommodation, I would encourage you to have your meals with us.Â
Accommodation takes the following forms:
1 double room in the main house  (can be a twin room if you have someone to share with)
1 double bed in the annex (Mandy's cottage) (shared with single bedroom - bathroom, kitchen and living area)
1 single bed in the annex (Mandy's cottage) (shared with the double bedroom - bathroom, kitchen and living area)
