This three day retreat will help you manage your stress levels. Spend some time understanding what stress does to your body and mind, creatively explore how it is affecting you, spend some time in nature and in mindfulness, and share your experiences with others.

About the Event

We all experience stress in our lives. Sometimes, however, it just doesn't seem to go away. It feels like we spend our lives rushing around, living moment by moment, without any real time to relax, slow down and just 'be'. 

As well as affecting you mentally and emotionally - perhaps you feel anxious or depressed, or tired all the time - stress also affects you physically, raising your blood pressure and cholesterol, and sending adrenalin and cortisol shooting around you. We were not built for chronic stress, but for short sharp stress responses. Evolution has not yet caught up with the changes to living in modern day society. 

On this three day retreat, you will be enveloped in a supportive environment. We will help you understand what stress is, and how it is affecting your body. We will creatively journal and explore the effects of stress on your emotions, and where you would actually like to be. We employ mindful meditation and nature walks to soothe your soul. We leave you with tips and techniques to help you manage going forward. 

This retreat is a small, friendly and down to earth way to take a break, check in with yourself and work out where you want to be and how to get there. 

The retreat is held at Hill Top Haven, a rural old farmer and miner's cottage in the middle of the rugged and beautiful North Pennines (AONB). (For pictures and map, see more at www.hilltophaven.co.uk)

Your accommodation is included, as are all meals, events and activities.

I am a qualified coach and mindfulness teacher, with both training in and personal experience of chronic stress. I create a safe and supportive environment for you. If you are suffering from complex physical or emotional problems, I would recommend seeing your GP or finding a counsellor or therapist you can talk to. I have your best interests at heart, and will be seeking to have a conversation with each attendee, on booking.

Longer walk including mindfulness, own time and fun

Firepit and hot chocolate or drinks on the terrace (depending on the season)

Accommodation takes the following forms:

2 x en suite twin shared room in the main house

1 x single bed in the annex (shared with double bedroom - bathroom, kitchen and living area)

1 x double bed in the annex (shared with the single bedroom - bathroom, kitchen and living area)

Alternatively you may find your own accommodation, although meals will be included, as these form an important part of the retreat.
